Shameless speculation:

On one hand the decision to announce her vote is GROSS and craven caving.

On another hand, maybe she is looking at polls and thinking that the #GOP is in danger of getting their butts kicked up and down the ticket and she thinks she can help fight that. Maybe she thinks she and enough other sane people who MIGHT make it into round 2 of #DonTheCon MIGHT be able to contain some of the worst of promises to shred the Constitution on Day 1. And if the #GOP holds together they are more likely to get some legislation passed. Okay, I have been listening to Mike Johnson on that theme. And Ted #CancunCruz decided he had to represent his constituents even though #DonPoorleone rather severely dissed both his wife and his father.

On still another hand, maybe Haley is angling for a Secretary of State job. After "Hang Mike Pence," I can't imagine why ANYONE would want the VP job, but Sec. of State is still pretty high in the line of Presidential succession and after her stint as UN ambassador, more within the realm of plausibility than for a governor with less foreign policy experience.

Or still another fantasy: a convention surprise. Be in the tent if #DonTheCon gets convicted and is not available to campaign or if something were to happen between now and the convention....

Ummm, a girl can hope?
