Jimmy Carter's hometown prepares to say goodbye to former president

Since President Jimmy Carter has entered hospice, RantWoman is likely to collect video bits, probably spiced up with offerings from trademark RantWoman's inner blowtorch.

Look it's the same video in case this description hooks readers better than the other one.

Commentary from Planet RantWoman:

The 1980 election was the first election RantWoman was eligible to vote. RantWoman thinks that is the election where she was a poll watcher for the MT primary in June at the nearby elementary school. RantWoman was offered a ride home by a friend's mother. (TWO BLOCKS for Cripes sakes). Apparently RantWoman needed to hear that RantWoman's friends mother considered The League of Women Voters a teensy bit liberal for her taste but thought RantWoman might find it relevant. (Ummm....)

In November RantWoman voted absentee from college and thinks she probably voted Barry Commoner. RantWoman might have permitted herself to feel guilty about a third party vote throwing the race to Ronald Reagan, EXCEPT that Jimmy Carter conceded before the polls had even closed in the Mountain and Pacific time zones!

Memo to future Presidential--and Congressional--candidates: DO NOT DO THAT. Contest all districts. Hillary Clinton has no business blaming Bernie sanders and the Bernie Bros for her defeat if she barely campaigned at all in the upper Midwest. Likewise, Marjorie Taylor Greene's constituents deserve a better option!

But enough on that. Maybe draw lessons from Pres. carter praying for...

Rocking Out AMAZING GRACE

Amazing Grace. First a glorious rocked out version of the tune.

Next the concept as realized while RantWoman has been entrusted with a role in more than one State of Society report and so far has restrained herself from full Tell WAY TOO MUCH OF THE TRUTH as recognized on Planet RantWoman.

Mainly for now, Amazing grace has been discovered somewhere on the interwebs in connection with the North Pacific Yearly Meeting ,Faith and Practice ACCESSIBLE online version

RantWoman honestly had kind of given up hope about having Faith and Practice in any other form than PRINT (no, not sorry; RantWoman still HAS FEELINGS about the topic) or big gloppy hard to navigate hard to search PDF. RantWoman has been quite irritated that the Friend who had a leading to have Friends read different chapters in our own voices got disgusted and resigned his membership. RantWoman also DOES NOT APOLOGIZE for exclaiming LOUDLY in multiple venues while not realizing that work was going on to make the above accessible version. RantWoman DOES wholeheartedly and enthusiastically receive and share the results.

Just in time for the FLGBTQC online Midwinter gathering, RantWoman specifically wants to link a number of sections that may resonate for Friends. However, since it is past RantWoman's witching hour RantWoman invites readers to browse for themselves. RantWoman hopes to come back and link the sections she thinks are relevant but invites others to skim as you are able.

Fight BS with BIBLE VERSES?

The gist of this data dump while RantWoman mulls leadings.:

Are there people who can fight disinformation and angertainment and flood the zone propaganda BS with...

BIBLE VERSES...?

(OR is RantWoman spending too much time and wasting too much creativity even touching the entire topic???)

For example, if #LandslideLauren Boebert goes off about the deficit and the debt ceiling as part of the preaching meme below, does Twitter need to hear the part in the Gospel when Satan is tempting Christ about "Don't tempt the Lord your God?"

The secular Left is not going to go anywhere near Bible passages. Detractors on Twitter are spending too much time on her (painfully obvious) lack of education and her husband's behavior in a bowling alley  (RantWoman is only mildly concerned about exhibitionism that winds up in a consenting adult marriage; RantWoman thinks she has said before: RantWoman cares that the Boebert sons recognize what was wrong wither father's behavior. RantWoman also thinks Jayson Boebert's cozy relationship with oil and natural gas companies deserve WAY more attention than behavior decades ago in a bowling alley.)

But back to whether or not Rep. Boebert is threatening President Biden's life or inviting violence.

(Honestly, RantWoman assumes that Rep. Boebert is already on some kind of FBI watchlist; RantWoman will now TRY to stick to the topic at hand or at least the data.

The Twitter discussion

Washington Press Club Foundation addresses: Hear Me Lord (Live at Reggae On The River)

Here RantWoman offers

1 quirky hymn performed by Zimbabwean singer Olver Mtukudzi live in concert.

A link for a video of GOP Rep. Nancy Mace's address at the National Press Club Foundation congressional .dinner, some moments of which made RantWoman laugh and others made cringe too badly to make RantWoman want to show the opening view.

A video of Rev. Sen Raphael Warnock's address at the National Press Club Foundation congressional .dinner, some moments of which may be too Jesus-y for some viewers, even though. Sen. Warnock had RantWoman at the opening comments about an excorcism.

It wasn't until the runoff that i knew Sen. Schumer was a praying man."

NY City Rikers Island Jail LGBTQ+ Unit has collapsed

First
Information presented FYI
Content warning: multiple references to sexual harassment, sexual assault, suicide attempts

Now what?

Rikers Island is all the way across the country.

The actual prison is supposed to get torn down and rebuilt but RantWoman has no clue when that might actually happen.

Yes, of course many Friends would like to abolish the whole prison injustice system, but there are people suffering and in danger NOW.

Many Friends who are not ready to abolish the whole system would like to ban solitary confinement BUT solitary confinement is SOMETIMES rebranded as protective custody and used as a safety measure.

Okay, so?

What if there is a re-energized cluster of LGBTQIA+ Friends soon set to meet online for FLGBTQC Midwinter Gathering

What if RantWoman were not the only party nerd willing to spend time during a gathering helping draft some kind of statement?

But who would we address it to?
Quakers? Others involved in advocacy about the issue? Selected news media and internet spaces.

But WILL WAY OPEN?

Readers who have an opinion are invited to leave comments and to advise RantWoman in the comment if you do not want RantWoman to publish the comment.
