Judging by the interview here, newly appointed Senator Graham already sounds like an astute politician, so much so that RantWoman is going to have to work to contain her reflex desire for anyone endorsed by President #StableGenius to LOSE.

No, that also is not automatically an endorsement. RantWoman has resolved not to give money to partizan campaigns but will definitely be supporting projects to get people registered, fight vote suppression, and stay on top of any efforts to subvert the election process.

RantWoman will also be treading carefully about hopes for voices that undo many of the worst most inhuman policies of the current administration.

The whole internet is full of people with medical credentials saying various versions of "Not Bloody likely." 

The norm in modern hospitals is to kick people out as quickly as possible for many many conditions. If the good Senator were a regular person, most likely he would already have been kicked out to Skilled Nursing or dumped into the lap of family ordered to find an appropriate placement. But no.

Instead, we have multiple voices asserting that they had 20-minute conversations? Was it REALLY the Senator and not AI? Was it 20 minutes of raise one finger for a yes vote and two fingers for a no vote.

Is it gauche just to say 

"May God rest Mitch McConnell's soul and may he not be forced endlessly to suffer in the hospital"?

The internet of course is also full of various versions of "May he be dragged immediately to hell to burn forever."

But what if the #GOP, instead of demanding proof of life, just started singing his praises, lauding every outrageous thing that Mitch has pulled off. Play recordings about this in his hospital room daily. Convince him that he has done, cough, so much for the US already and there are others who can carry on the fight.

RantWoman means to find a different vid. This one is full of "leopards eating faces" comments about Senator Mike Lee and disappointment that Sen. Tom Tillis still wants to keep his party winning. But afte minutes of commentary, this video does a decent job of explaining the military's proposed new coding of religions.

1.The Secretary of #WarCrimes has been having just a banger of a week. A virulently xenophobic and disgusting white supremacist speech at a #DDay anniversary commemoration. A speech so vile that, apparently, he is persona non grata in Normandy and was disinvited to a different commemoration.

2. The #Secdef is trying to block promotions of some more highly decorated women and Black officers. Tiresome. Idiotic. Well spoken about by people who have way more military cred than RantWoman.

3. Best of all, he done gone and picked a fight with the Church of Jesus CHRIST of Latter day Saints over who is or is not a Christian. The task: reduce the number of 2-letter codes from 200 or so to about 30 with one catchall category called "other." The revised list explicitly added the word Christian to a bunch of different recognizable Christian denominations, INCLUDING QUAKERS, but not Mormons. 

Aside from typing out the full name "Church of Jesus CHRIST of Latter Day Saints, RantWoman devoted a lot of social media time to witnessing about the fact that not all Quakers are Christians.  RantWoman would just drop the word Christian entirely even though she can imagine yhowls of concern that Christians are being silenced. And the Mormons are still separated in the list from other Christians.

RantWoman is also jumping up and down about the point that the Secretary of DEFENSE job is to protect people of all faiths, not just virtue signalling and certainly not trying to resolve theological disputes by fiat.

As for social media, lots of people pointed out Sen. Lee's history of promoting certain kinds of discrimination. A few people mentioned that "next they'll be coming for the Catholics (because some evangelical Christians regard Catholics as idol worshippers.)" A few other commenters also get the point about religious liberty in general. A few. Still not the Secretary of #WarCrimes , crusades, and deer in the headlights twitches when certain questions get asked.

--history of US Maritime administration.

--Discussion of aging stock in the US cargo fleet and the role of these ships as adjunct to US military capacity

--discussion of the possibility that nuclear powered ships can feed (carbon free) electricity into the grid on land.

--Discussion of DOGE including Jones Act waivers are being handled by the DoD instead of the maritime administration. The Jones Act requires vessels moving cargo between US ports to have US crews, US flag, and US-built construction. Waivers are currently sought without any kind of check whether there might be Jones Act compliant vessels available. The maritime administration does not even get notification of the waivers until 10 days after travel has been completed. 

Bottom line: it would be worthwhile for someone more of a budget nerd than RantWoman to sit with this video, consider things that do actually need funding and other concerning policy points. The, don't even excuse me, Secretary of #WarCrimes keeps going off with grandiose visions of more air craft carriers and who knows what else when there are lots of not-sexy basics that probably add a lot more value for both commercial shipping and of course the military. So please, budget nerds, have at it.
