If you do it right, the effect should be more than scary enough for Halloween.

True confession: RantWoman has not been able to find anything that looks even half as dorky as her first pair or two of glasses.

RantMom says the package arrived on Halloween.

RantMom says she did not notice much difference from the surgery RantWoman had before the eyeglasses arrived. But the eyeglasses really mattered.

They mattered so much that RantWoman remembers glasses fights when RantMom would try to make RantWoman take her glasses off at bedtime.

Now when RantWoman sees a new eye doctor or sometimes even when a young doc is tailing a regular doc, RantWoman hears things like "we do things differently now." In other words, RantWoman is officially a relic, a data point about the middle of last century.

But definitely NOT DEAD YET
