FOURTH SATURDAY Meeting for Worship Saturday April 25, 3:30-5:00 pm

RantWoman, for once writing in the First Person.

Hi Friends

I hope this email finds you well and safe. I am well enough and
grateful. Safe is a little more uncertain, but I have good options for
masks.

This email is an invitation to Fourth Saturday Worship, resuming Saturday April 25, 3:30-5:00 pm. after a gap in March. The schedule as in the past will be one hour of expectant worship followed by 1/2 or so of worship sharing about prayer.

This month's queries:
--Praying out loud: is it a thing for you? Is it more or less of a
thing during the Lockdown than at other times?

--Have you ever been in a space where others expect you to pray out
loud. Have you been given words to do so?

--How do we find community in prayer?

Thank you to Nancy Helm for hosting the Zoom meeting.

All Zoom meetings for Worship call us to technological centeredness
and to new experiments.

--If lip reading matters to you, consider leaving your Zoom display on
Active Speaker. As speakers respond to the call to speak, their faces
appear in the Active Speaker window. This will not offer the same
opportunity to look at other worshippers as Gallery View but will
provide a bigger space for speakers' faces.

--To accommodate Friends whose only path to expression is in the chat,
please reserve chat during worship for messages out of worship. If
live transcription would be helpful, please ask one of the hosts: we
may not be able to accommodate the first time but will consider this
question in future planning.

--Announcements and resource suggestions are welcome either in the
chat or verbally toward the end of the worship sharing period. Please say your name if you are called to speak during this period.

--Phone callers can toggle their audio on and off mute with *6

Humbly, and a little grumpily, I personally am tired of saying "we
can't ... until the governor lifts the Stay at Home order." We can't
reopen the computer lab in my building. We can't meet in person at any
Seattle public library branch  (with the possible exception of
unhoused people who may as of this writing be allowed to use restrooms
at any of 5 local branches. We can't meet in person at Quarterly
Meeting near Ellensburg. But we CAN meet by Zoom!

Also, a possible guest appearance by Sara BridgeSong lately of a
recent Meeting for Business and always called to bear witness in
moments where people with disabilities are called to be present in
places where they may be implicitly or explicitly not wanted.

In Light and Faithfulness.
