RantWoman has served multiple times on the planning committee for the Pacific Northwest Quaker Women's Theology Conference. Every time the question of inviting men has come up. Every time, Friends planning the women's conference have felt led to encourage men to organize their own conference. RantWoman is very glad to celebrate the third year when men have actually done this.
The Pacific Northwest Quaker Men's Gathering is in it's third year. We are the result of a strong leading one of our group had while attending Way of the Spirit, a spiritual deepening program operated under the umbrella of Good News Associates. We are very loosely modeled after the Pacific Northwest Women's Theology Conference, and we strive to be open and inviting to any and all Quaker men, or those identifying as male. We have tried very hard to be open and accommodating at every level, and we can almost always adjust for those with special dietary or privacy needs.
In the past three years, we have had men from four different yearly meetings attend, as well as two independent Friends. We are not operating under the care of any particular Yearly Meeting, and so are open to men from any Quaker tradition. All points of view will be honored and treasured.
