Leopards, opportunity, and a likely underreported story...

For trans-friendly prison abolitionists and others who believe in freedom of speech and nonviolent protest but who also are grappling with WTF to do with violent #J6 insurrectionists.

Content warning for the following video: VERY important insights, info about role and charges, data, reference to laws, AND some probably triggering points

Hoping this defendant can connect with someone from ACLU LGBT+ Rights work

And issues stated more obliquely

RantWoman's comment on Youtube, edited slightly and expanded.

Even if her attorney says rejection drove her into the realm of election deniers, how on earth does this woman negotiate being trans among all her rioter buddies in the first place???

Systemically, it's the same thing the NAACP says about the Rice St. jail in Atlanta as defendant Trump prepares to surrender on Georgia state charges: Why not fix the whole jail instead of worrying about one arrestee having to experience it?

Maybe a FEW prison reformers / abolitionists are at a minimum going to advocate for changing policies system wide.

MAYBE a few on the Right are going to experience the same kinds of "come to Jesus" moments about the carceral system as early Quakers experienced while being thrown into prison for all manner of offenses against the established order of the time. Well, MAYBE

#MTG and the SOMETIMES #BackTheBlue crowd are going to sing with the #J6 choir and say everyone should go free even the ones who beat up law enforcement officers and proudly proclaimed on their social media accounts that "hell no, it WASN'T antifa."

Given that sentencing seems to be all over the place even for people clearly involved in violence, RantWoman is slightly interested in the life story arc described in the first video that earned her an 8-year sentence.

And, as someone who has PEACEFULLY protested in the Capitol rotunda, RantWoman's blood BOILS listening to people try to pretend that the mayhem of January 6 was just peaceful strolls through "the people's house."

RantWoman is not super current on every protest in the US Capitol since the founding of the nation. One event that sticks in RantWoman's memory is the 1954 armed attack on the House of Representatives by a group of Puerto Rican Nationalists.

RantWoman is emphatically NOT saying violence is okay; RantWoman IS wondering what would be proportionate accountability for #January6 rioters.

RantWoman also believes in prayer and, again, is not sure what to pray.
