Going off about moving Mark Meadows to federal court

RantWoman has decided several times not to go to law school. All the legal ins and outs of Trumparama have not changed the No decision. That said, RantWoman is spending more time than may be healthy cogitating about a number of topics: idioms of protest, duties and roles of people in various positions, the national mood and cultural signifiers, and of course racial and other justice.

RantWoman is shamelessly going to post some of the videos she winds up thinking about. Here is one from a Youtube channel called Talking Feds run by a very experienced attorney.

Comments on the other side.

The comments RantWoman left on Youtube.

I am not a lawyer but since I am spending far too much time thinking about this stuff some musings that might or might not have any applicability in law.

Puzzling over Meadows' federal role, a few particular points:
The quote from awhile ago about "No one outside the beltway cares about the Hatch Act" is  a slap in the face of conscientious federal employees all over the country. If I were a judge making a ruling, I would try to include that point in any comments.

The people of GA and several people in particular are victims of the conspiracy and fraud. Why should they have to rely on the federal government for redress?

Could Meadows be tried about the Georgia piece of a much larger conspiracy if even one act falls outside of regular NONPOLITICAL Chief of Staff  duties?

No way would I grant him immunity if he says things that are inconsistent with his email even if in his mind the stuff in the email are somehow justification.

BUT one of the reports talked about motivated to achieve "a peaceful transfer of power." He does not of course have to testify but I wonder how he thinks the efforts in GA did or did not contribute to that goal.

As far as his overall federal role, most of Mr. #P01135809 cabinet resigned after #J6. And more officials threatened to resign when #TFG wanted to appoint Jeffrey Clark attorney general. Why did Meadows stay on? Were things so bad that he figured if he left things would get much worse quickly. And who made the decision or had to tell #POTUS45 that they were not going to the Capitol on #January6 ?

See, I would not grant him immunity BUT some of these issues might mitigating factors for sentencing and / or LOTS of grist for appeals.
