Quaker Voice Alert: ask Governor Inslee to extent eviction moratorium until March 2021

Friends,
Left unemployed or furloughed by Covid-19, thousands of Washingtonians have been left unable to pay their rent since March. While our state's eviction moratorium has protected many from losing shelter, it is set to expire on August 1. This will leave thousands of renters in Washington State vulnerable to eviction at the same time that enhanced unemployment benefits are set to end.
It is clear that a long term solution to the precarity of renters in Covid-19 must be realized by the legislature in the next legislative session. Quaker Voice will continue to push for rental assistance and protections for renters as we transition into a post-Covid world. Until then, join us in calling on Governor Inslee to extend the eviction moratorium through March 2021 to allow the Legislature time to vote on a longer-term solution to housing stability during COVID-19. You can send a message to Governor Inslee here.
In peace,
Quaker Voice
