The US President appears not to be serious about either forcing President Putin to negotiate or about honoring NATO commitments. He does appear to be happy to SELL US arms to let NATO countries fight with.

It's hard to imagine what positive contribution the US can make to a post-war reconstruction. Also a lot of what will be possible depends on political surges within Russia. 

RantWoman has said before and will say again: drones and cruise missles are making some kinds of military materiel obsolete so a "use it or lose it" point of view has some merit.
