Could The 3.5% Protest Rule Stop Donald Trump?

To me, even though I treat everything to do with the military very cautiously, I think the SUCCESS of the army anniversary is that we have the space to have 2100+ local events and 13+million participants. DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC. Now we have to keep hitting hard on a few points. --Indiscriminate quota driven raids by masked armed goons are unacceptable and MUST STOP. Citizens and children should NEVER be detained. --EVERY single person who gets detained gets every second of due process that the President has sucked up over his entire life of criming and fraud. --This lawless administration has NO BUSINESS talking about undocumented "lawbreakers." There are serious criminals who are undocumented and should be deported.

What actually happened for week 2

RantWoman and all gathered had quite fierce reactions to some of week 1. RantWoman's view, which accords well enough with the group was "DO NOT FORCE US TO SING, unless you are prepared for pipe organz, didjeridoos, vuvuzelas....

RantWoman brought her disquiet about revisiting readings from last week to the group and Friends were clear to start with:

Give over Thine Own Willing

Give over thine own willing;
give over thine own running;
give over thine own desiring
to know or to be anything;
and sink down to the seed
which God sows in the heart...

Isaac Pennington - 1661

From Pope Leo Xiv
In our competitive society, where it seems that only the strong and winners deserve to live, sport also teaches us how to lose. It forces us, in learning the art of losing, to confront our fragility, our limitations and our imperfections. It is through the experience of these limits that we open our hearts to hope. Athletes who never make mistakes, who never lose, do not exist

  • What barriers do I notice in myself to being loud in a conviction? In what moments does my faith require this of me?

Week 2

 Second meeting:

  • What barriers do I notice in myself to being loud in a conviction? In what moments does my faith require this of me?
Each Note

God picks up the reed-flute world and blows.
Each note is a need coming through one of us
a passion, a longing-pain.

Remember the lips
where the wind-breath note originated,
and let your note be clear.
Don’t try to end it.
Be your note.
I’ll show you how it’s enough.

Go up on the roof at night
in this city of the soul.
Let everyone climb on their roofs
and sing their notes!
Sing loud!

The Maybe Queries

 RantWoman has a task.

RantWoman is seeking Light from others about whether to do the task as offered or to reiterate and reprise what the group chewed on last week.

Below is Plan B, such as it has come to RantWoman

Well known US bloviator (sorry, not sorry for the word choice) Francis Fukuyama wrote an article after the Soviet Union fell apart declaring "the end of history," which I interpreted as universal liberal democracy breaking out everywhere.

In what respects do we see history rising up and kicking us in the rear all over the place?

In such an environment, where are voices of continuing revelation needed most?

Do Friends feel any call to reflect on:

the military parade, the 250th anniversary of the army, the President's birthday and the #NoKings Protests OR about the celebration of Pope Leo Xiv in Chicago? Should we add various very hot but not yet nuclear wars, ICE raids, the depradations of a senile President and his, cough, team...?

It's still an anniversary

Someone is quite incompetent about memorializing key events but this is from Mother's Day church and celebration
Rainier Beach Presbyterian Church,
on Mother's Day.
You want an actual photo? Tough!

Today would be RantMom and RantDad's 65th anniversary and Grandma Teacher and Grandpa Farmer's 90th wedding anniversary.

consider

RantWoman and the RSOF: Anniversary!

Consider also it's Loving Day, the anniversary of the 1958 #SCOTUS decision legalizing interracial marriage.

RantWoman has no evidence that this #SCOTUS decision ever came up for the RantParents, but it's still a nice resonance.

It's still an anniversary even if several of the figures have long passed away.

Go Missoula!

Missoula gives a master class in malicious compliance.

LA on ICE

RantWoman needs to go off too badly to properly. RantWoman does not apologize exactly and has just dumped a bunch of links here to give full range to outrage..

Look. WE ALREADY KNOW that President #Gropesaurus is a sex predator. To hell with Epstein.

But keep talking about the Big bad Bonkers budget busting Just let them DIE
billionaire bailout boondoggle.

Personally, I think the Senate Parliamentarian has a LOT of not relevant crap to rip. If members of the House keep waking up and saying "I didn't read that part..." the whole thing needs to fall apart and start oer so they don't have time to screw around rescinding all the previous apportionments and laws Congress has passed.

The #GOP needs to grow a spine, stop cheering on mobs of armed masked thugs kidnapping hardworking people off the streets.

And finally, aren't there a bunch of red states, places people actually voted for President #Stable Genius who are desperate for disaster relief. if the guard and the marines need something to do, man up, get on some places where their help is desperately needed. Stop pussyfooting around helping #FelonDon pick on brown people.

Trump ATTACK on USA can be STOPPED with UNEXPECTED MOVE
(RantWoman perhaps missed how to realize the title.)

Flags?

RantWoman AGAIN spent a considerable part of her Meeting for Zoom Worship in Elon's sandbox. RantWoman does not pay Elon for any of her accounts on X / Twitter. RantWoman does find enough content and exchange to make the time worthwhile even though RantWoman would prefer a lot less of other parts of the platform. RantWoman is also argumentative about whether letting this particular media stream flow into her worship experience is appropriate. RantWoman just has to trust about this.

One of today's media topics: protests against ICE raids in Los Angeles and President #StableGenius sending in 2000 national guard troops to quell "violence" and "riots. Few media voices characterized the situation has masked armed thugs from ICE rounding up hardworking people at DANGEROUS locations like Home Depot. Even fewer noticed that there was no violence until law enforcement got out the flash bangs and tear gas.

One theme of RantWoman's encounters: today

a post by Adam Kinzinger, hero of the #January6 hearings and presumably aspiring presidential candidate. The post was something like "Protest all you want but there is no place for violence and for God's sake no Mexican flags, only US ones."

RantWoman found it VERY exhilarating to read all the quote posts taking Kinzinger to task on various grounds.

--Mexico is one of the US and California's biggest trading partners, never mind that our felon President started a stupid trade war and his 's love affair with tariffs.

--Clearly Kinzinger has either never been to CA or never interacted with what a melting pot the place is. Many people in CA and in the US have loved ones on both sides of the border.

--Thank HEAVEN there are leaders like Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum able and willing to stand up to the #ApricotAntichrist.

--#DueProcess applies to EVERYONE not just white career criminals like the current White House resident.

--Who on earth expects ANYONE just easily to acquiece to masked armed thugs. #UnmaskICE.

RantWoman is posting the queries from an online worship sharing because one of RantWoman's responses to the queries is about instruments and taking care of instruments relates to writing and social media and whether RantWoman should start a substack, find an editor, add other platforms...

RantWoman may or may not get around to a post about dijeridoos and transit advocacy that came from the same set of queries.

And if RantWoman is REALLY generous she may let literature brain loose on all the elements above that resonate with the queries below.

The queries

Rumi paints a portrait of a “city of the soul”

alight with the song of God. If we are indeed meant to be a chorus:

-   How do I listen closely to harmonize my voice with others?

-   What habits/wounds/frustrations hold me back from the listening and the singing?

- How am I tending my instrument?

The readings:

Each Note

God picks up the reed-flute world and blows.

Each note is a need coming through one of us

a passion, a longing-pain.

Remember the lips

where the wind-breath note originated,

and let your note be clear.

Be your note.

I’ll show you how it’s enough.

Let everyone climb on their roofs

and sing their notes!

DDay Remembrances?

RantWoman wants to offer the following #DDayRemembrance and #HappyBirthday greeting for #Secdef Pete Hegseth.

RantWoman means absolutely no disrespect to the #DDayAnniversary. RantWoman is even interested to learn that you did PT with US troops on one of the #DDay beaches. RantWoman absolutely considers that a more respectful gesture than past performances by the current #CommandInThief.

That said, RantWoman is calling you, Secretary Hegseth, for only some of the reasons you deserve both prayers and severe eldering. Pardon the Quakerese. Eldering is Quakerese for stern admonishment.

RantWoman posted something like the following on X / Twitter / Elon's sandbox.

Dear Mr. #SecDef.

Warm #DDay2025 greetings and #HappyBirthday.

Could you please help me out, sir?

When you get done deciding that heroes like Harriet Tubman, harvey Milk, all the highly rated transgender troops, and all the people you are trying to purge from US Military Academy libraries, DOD websites, and dozens of other resources, I am a little stuck about a question.

Your Wikipedia page, Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia says you were admitted to West Point, the US military academy but that you chose Princeton, also as it happens RantWoman's alma mater, over West Point because you wanted to play basketball. But look. Wikipedia says that West Point also has an NCAA division 1basketball team.  What exactly was wrong with the Black Knights? Army Black Knights men's basketball - Wikipedia

Please understand, considering all of your media pronouncements, a story major media has not really picked up from the Daily Princetonian about what can be charitably described as some poorly referenced citations from your senior thesis, RantWoman has a pretty strong "inquiring minds want to know" reflex? Were you really admitted to the US Military academy or was that an effort to puff up your resume?

I understand you are quite busy what with wanting to send Marines to Los Angeles and helping prepare for #CadetBoneSpurs efforts to hog the limelight on the 250th anniversary of the US Army, so no need to rush.

Sincerely,

RantWoman, Princeton Class of 1985

Multiple videos about Operation Spider Web

RantWoman is taking a break from other incendiary content to collect videos about the latest edition of "The War is going REALLY badly for Russia, Operation Spider web.

Last time Russia and Ukraine attempted peace talks, Russia had its umpteenth round of air assaults on really dangerous apartment buildings and civilian infrastructure. This time Russia is still bombing civilian objects but boy have Ukrainian drones gone to town, all over Russia from Murmansk, headquarters of the Baltic Fleet to Irkutsk in Siberia. One of the videos mentions a submarine hit because it was visible on the surface.

CW: images of military materiel on fire.

Enjoy?

Let's talk about Russia's Pearl Harbor and your questions....

This item is about the President's commentary about simply "declaring victory" over the Houthis in Yemen.

As an aside, recently a commenter referred to Belle as "Barnyard Barbie." RantWoman would definitely wear a T-shirt that says "I get my news from Barnyard Barbie."

Happy big 6-0 to Little Sister: Yet another celebration grabbed by #COVID

RantWoman thought of assembling a collection of loving and piquant memories of life with Little Sister dating from even before she actually appeared on the scene, but that may or may not happen but hopefully before the RantFamily gathers to celebrate.

See, plan was, the RantFamily was going to gather the day of, until...ding, ding, ding, Irrepressible Nephew and Girlfriend came home from several hours in a car with Girlfriend having a raging fever and then a positive COVID test. Even if Nephew is testing negative, NO ONE needs #COVID at a birthday party. RantWoman would have just erred on the side of caution but encouraged little sister to reach out to King County Public health resources to confirm.

Wishing Girlfriend speedy recovery and Irrepressible Nephew continuing negative status.

The biggest message: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It's been a great road together, MOSTLY.

RantWoman remembers the day Little Sister came home from the hospital. Only like two hairy older siblings, she had almost now hair and certainly no eyebrows. This was in the hoary mists of Last Century when babies got sent home wrapped in blankets but without the car seat many hospitals insist must accompany new parents.

Skip past the gentleman from the MT GOP. RantWoman is collecting some links for further reflection and offers a number of items from Montana Free Press (MTFP)

Montana's 69th legislature has adjourned, and I'm back home in Missoula. Dems got some good wins this session—on education, taxes, & more. We also stopped many horrible bills. Not enough, but from the minority we were mighty. Now to get some rest before the next big fights.
